Limited Tool Warranty Information

Schmidts Powertools & Machinery Pty Ltd warrants Pacific Laser Systems, Dewalt & Milwaukee Power Tools for a period of 2 Years and LED Lenser products for 5 years against deficiencies in material and workmanship. Makita, Paslode, Hitachi, Bosch, Maglite, Estwing, Leatherman, Nebo, Stanley, Fiskars, Malco and Channellock tools have a warranty period of 1 Year to the original purchaser against deficiencies in material and workmanship.
Senco/Airco Tools Manufacturers Warranty varies with products from 1 to 5 years. Gearwrench, Lufkin, Weller, Crescent, Wiss, Nicholson, Kincrome, SP Hand Tools & Bahco Hand Tools have a lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects for most products with some exceptions. SP Air Tools, 12 Months. Scorpion Air tools, 6 Months. Bessey Clamps 12 Months.
Stabila Levels have a 10 Year Warranty for normal levels and 2 years for electronic levels.
Gerber & Fiskars Products come with varying Manufacturers warranty periods.

Dewalt, Hitachi, Paslode, Bosch & Milwaukee Batteries and Chargers have a 12 month warranty against deficiencies in material and workmanship and Makita batteries have a 3 month warranty. Makita Chargers have a 12 Months Warranty against deficiencies in material and workmanship.

This LIMITED WARRANTY does not cover products that are improperly used, abused, altered, repaired by others, pulled apart or accidents. This warranty does not cover part failure due to normal wear and tear. This does not cover damage done to Li-ion batteries from Over heating, over charging or Over Discharging. This warranty does not apply to accessories including but not restricted too: Tool bags, carry cases, pouches, drill and driver bits, saw blades & cutters.

Defects in workmanship and materials – Not attributable to normal wear, overloading, abusive treatment, unauthorised modification or careless handling – will be repaired without charge or the tool replaced.

Warranty Registration is not necessary to obtain the applicable warranty on a power tool purchased from us. You should retain your Tax invoice for the purposes of warranty claims. A credit card receipt or paypal receipt with a date of purchase is also sufficient.

Warranty Claims

If you consider that any product supplied by Schmidts Power Tools Pty Ltd is defective, you can lodge a claim under this Warranty and any apparent fault will be rectified free of charge by us within Warranty Period, which is effective from the date of purchase provided that you meet the following conditions:

  1. You must produce the original invoice or other proof of purchase document disclosing the purchase date.
  2. All costs of installation, cartage, freight, traveling expenses, hiring tools and insurance are paid by the customer.
  3. The product being precision equipment, has not been misused, adjusted, pulled apart or serviced by any person other than Schmidts Power Tools.
  4. The equipment has been installed correctly and is used in accordance with the instructions supplied with the product.

 

Schmidts Power Tools offers this warranty to you in addition to all other rights and remedies that you may have under law in relation to the products to which this warranty relates.
Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and for compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
Notwithstanding the preceding clause, Schmidts Power Tools liability in respect of a breach of a consumer guarantee or any warranty made under these Conditions of Warranty for any products not of a kind ordinarily acquired for personal, domestic or household use is limited, to the extent permissible by law and at the option of Schmidts Power Tools to:

  • Replacing the products or the supply of equivalent products or The repair of the products,
  • The payment of the cost of replacing the products or of acquiring equivalent products;
  • or The payment of the cost of having the products repaired.
  • To the extent permitted by law, all other warranties whether implied or otherwise, not set out in these Conditions of Warranty are excluded and Schmidts Power Tools is not liable in contract, tort (including, without limitation, negligence or breach of statutory duty) or otherwise to compensate the Customer for:
  • Any increased costs or expenses;
  • Any loss of profit, revenue, business, contracts or anticipated savings;
  • Any loss or expense resulting from a claim by a third party; or
  • Any special, indirect or consequential loss or damage of any nature whatsoever.

  • Tools may need to be Returned to Schmidts Power Tools in some cases products may be sent directly to the distributor or dropped off at another dealer, depending what Brand it is.

Warranty Period

LED Lenser lights and torches: Manufacturers 5 year warranty. Leatherman tools have a 1 year warranty.
Dewalt & Milwaukee Power Tools for a period of 2 Years against deficiencies in material and workmanship. Dewalt & Milwaukee Hand tools, Batteries and Chargers for a period of 1 Year against deficiencies in material and workmanship.
Makita, Paslode, Hitachi, Bosch, Maglite, Estwing, Stanley, Fiskars, Nebo & Channellock tools for a period of 1 Year to the original purchaser against deficiencies in material and workmanship.

Warranty Exclusions: This section identifies what is excluded under this Warranty.
This Warranty does not cover damage caused by:

  • Misuse or abusive use of the product, or wear and tear.
  • Incorrect operation or failure to operate the product in accordance with the instructions supplied with the product,
  • Failure to clean or improper cleaning of the product,
  • Failure to maintain equipment such as regular services, lubrication, etc.
  • Incorrect voltage or non-authorised electrical connections,
  • Improper installation,
  • Use of non authorised/non-standard parts,
  • Abnormal product performance caused by any ancillary equipment interference or other external factors,
  • Failure or any breakage caused by overload, dropping or abusive treatment.
  • Repair or other work carried out on the product other than Schmidts Power Tools.
  • This warranty does not apply to power tool attachments, accessories, blades and cutters.
  • This Warranty does not cover service costs in replacing and maintaining consumable parts and accessories that have ceased working through normal wear and tear such as, but not limited to: drill heads, blades, cutters, brushes, triggers and other parts classifiable as a consumable part or accessory.
  • Damage to tool bodies, rubber mouldings, paint, dirt, mud & plaster dust in motors or over tools, along with big scratches and gouges from the products body housing may be deemed as signs of significant use, wear & tear, abuse or possibly misuse.

Returns

  • We guarantee that your item will arrive exactly as described in perfect working brand new condition. Please notify us if you have received the incorrect item, or any defective products within 7 days of receipt. We will solve these issues quickly and for free, including return postage costs, if we are at fault.
  • If you are dissatisfied with your purchase and you have not used your products, we can accept a return of new products. The Buyer will be responsible for return postage to our warehouse in Victoria and we will refund your final purchase price less a 20% restocking fee.
  • This fee is to cover our shipping costs to you and the selling fees. A refund will be sent when our warehouse receives your products in brand new unused condition. Please email or call us for return details.
  • All sales are final once you use your products, or 7 days after you receive your products.
